Honorable Mention in Silhouette | Alternative Planes Of Existence
Honorable Mention in Advertising | Baetylus
Nominee in People | Cooling Off At The Pub
Nominee in Still Life | Nakaya Piccolo
Photographs were entered from 69 countries and it’s great to have a breadth of my work recognised by the judges, to whom I am thankful.
Three of the images were made using a Leica M10-D and three of the images were made using Lumix cameras (S1R and LX100 mkII). As always, all photographs were made in raw and processed in Adobe’s LightRoom Classic. The monochrome finishing was done in Exposure Software’s X7, using an Apple Mac Pro, with fully calibrated Eizo CG series monitors.
As the year comes to a close, I was truly humbled and moved when photography commentator Shira Shavit wrote a piece about my work on her extremely popular LinkedIn.
Shira chose a backstage photograph of opera singer extraordinaire, Ida Ränzlöv, as a leading image and very kindly wrote the following about my work.
“I usually write about photographers who are not among the living. For photographers who have left a priceless legacy. That influenced me. Who left a mark on me. I have written very little about photographers while they are still alive. But this Is one of the pulse-pounding photographers and I am very attached to his work. A brave connection of a viewer In front of the work of the photographer – It’s a special bond . Edmond Is one of them. The seam between photojournalist and artistic photography – He symbolizes for me. Beyond being a photographer of supreme grace he Is also a wonderful human . Photographers show us the world, through the lenses of their eyes. I have a real and sincere fondness for observing the subject Of the world through the lenses of Edmond’s special eye.”
“Photography as a language, of all visual languages, Is known to be the most intuitive, completely unmediated and speaks directly to the brain. There Is a factor In photography that evokes the almost physiological response of the word / sound – wow. The wow factor – I found In his work.” – Shira Shavit, December 2021.

Happy to share some pleasant news from the 15th B&W Spider Awards. The judges have kindly given a Fashion Category Honourable Mention to my backstage photograph, taken at Joshua Kane‘s fantastically creative Mythical Creatures fashion show.
From the 6,378 entries, from 69 countries, these seven images were also nominated in their categories too.
All the photographs were naturally shot in raw format. These Lumix RW2 files (from the S1, S1R and G9) were then edited, captioned and processed in Adobe Lightroom. The monochrome conversions were then finished in Exposure Software‘s Exposure X5.
A joy to receive the Travel Photographer Of The Year (Inspirational Journeys 11) book today. I was fortunate enough to have my image selected by the judges for a ‘Special Mention’ and was included in the very popular outdoor exhibition, by the banks of the River Thames outside City Hall.
My image was shot in the Tate Modern, using my Lumix G9 and the amazing Leica DG 50-200mm f2.8-4.0. The image was processed in Adobe Lightroom and the monochrome treatment finished in Exposure X5.
The Club of Black and White Photography and NOIR the best of The Club of Black and White Photography curators have very kindly bestowed an award for best image of the month of August to one of my images.
The international group is comprised of 68,977 photographer members, so it’s nice to have an image chosen from such a talented and large group of people.
The image was shot as part of my reportage on the COVID 19 lockdown. It was made on my Panasonic Lumix G9 and an Olympus M.Zuiko 75mm f1.8 lens.
