Urban 2020 Selected Photographer

Very happy to share that a portfolio of 5 of my images has been selected for the next stage of the Urban Photo Awards.

Wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial khachkar (a carved Armenian Stone Cross memorial sculpture) took place after a remembrance service and prayer of intercession, to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of April 24th, 1915, when 1.5 Million Armenians were massacred by the Ottoman Empire. A member of the clergy swings a censer (a type of thurible) of incense. The usual wreath laying ceremony at The Cenotaph, attended by hundreds, was cancelled this year due to the COVID 19 lockdown and instead took place on church grounds. 8 Pictures Judged As Finalists In Black & White Photo Competition

Astonished and overjoyed to share that that eight of my photographs reached the finals of the BW specialist competition, the 4th TZIPAC Zebra Awards.

Seven of the images were shot on Olympus OM-D cameras (E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II) and one of the images (the urban dance image) was shot on a Leica Monochrom.

Whilst non of the images went onto win, having eight photographs get into the finals is pretty special! Huge congratulations to the winners; there was some exceptional photography.

UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards Finalist

UKPEG VIDEOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR

Thrilled to share some great news! Honoured to have been selected as a finalist in the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards for my short film, Taxi Driver. The highly-acclaimed UK Picture Editors Guild Awards competition is distinctive in that panel of judges consists only of working picture editors from national and regional newspapers, and international photo agencies, assessing the thousands of entries from professional photographers from throughout the media.

I’d like to congratulate all my fellow finalists and look forward to seeing you all on the award’s ceremony.

The short film is a look at a day in the life of a London black cab driver. It was shot on a pair of Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II cameras and a selection of M.Zuiko lenses. Full details here.

Montblanc Pens Image Reaches Finals

RankArt

Pleased to share that at the end of January this image was judged through the top 50 and then the top 20 of the My Rank Art competition, which had a theme of Everyday Objects. Alas it didn’t go on to win, but the top 20 isn’t too shabby!
