Reportage & Street Photography
For those who couldn’t join in live on my webinar earlier this week, courtesy of DataColor, here’s a recording of the webinar. It lacks the Q&A which went on for around 30 minutes after, so feel free to post questions here instead.
Dear Mr. Terakopian,
I listened to your interesting talk of the 21st May, but for some odd reason did not have a picture. Datacolor kindly gave me a link to the recording yesterday night.
I have an OMD EM-1, and currently use it with an MMF-3 convertor with my 12-60mm f1:2.8, for street photography.
I have been eyeing the 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens, only you mentioned the 45mm f1.8 lens in your talk. Though I would like the fastest lens possible, I am still undecided whether to go for a fixed focal lens or a zoom.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Peter.
Hi Peter,
Strange you couldn’t see it! At least you’ve now seen the recording 🙂 The 12-40mm f2.8 PRO is a great lens and very handy. However, my preference is almost always for prime lenses. For street photography, I would definitely recommend the Olympus 25mm f1.8. I have a review here on my blog as well as an Album on Flickr. It’s a fantastic lens and it’s small, which means it’s more subtle for street work. From the other prime lenses which I’ve used, the Olympus 17mm f1.8, 45mm f1.8 and 75mm f1.8 are all also excellent lenses.
Edmond
Dear Ed,
Thank you for your prompt response, I will certainly look into your review before I make a move.
Incidentally I have just been watching your RNOH funding appeal, it is a really touching clip, that actually brought tears to my eyes.
Both the script editing and the monochrome photography are real top quality.
Sahha (wishing you good health in my native tongue).
Peter.
Thank you for your kind words Peter; much appreciated.
